DESIGN DIARY UPDATE:-

This stage of the Garnet and pearl gown is a bit technical and not very aesthetically interesting so we will show more images when it is fully finished.  In the meantime, we have all of the elements that we need to make the Forest green and cream gown and I have also made a start on a more flamboyant gown that I have been desperately excited to make that revolves around shades of lavender and a more artistic appraoch to textures and techniques...

Obviously one of the first things on my mind when starting a new design is to consider matching shoes... I have started looking for purple, lavender, lilac or complementing shades and of course Kurt Geiger have some fabulous offerings :-

INSPIRATION IMAGES:-

A gallery of images purely for inspiration whether it's a colour, concept or element that triggers your mind and helps you create your dreams, grab a cup of tea and have a browse through....

RECOMMENDATIONS:-

Fidra jewellers is a stunning wonderland of treasures.  There is such a huge range of unique and historical pieces that it would be impossible not to find something to suit every personality and budget...

Roger had never been a jewellery wearing person so when it came to trying to find his wedding ring he really didn't know where to start.  The staff at Fidra were outstanding, their knowledge and ability to explain the technical properties and practicalities was a god send and bent over backwards doing everything that they possibly could to come up with a perfect solution, the results were perfect and my husband has a ring that he loves wearing.  We can not recommend Fidra highly enough, the products, quality and services can not be beaten at all.  If you get the chance, do go and have a look around TEL: 01273 328 348 EMAIL: enquiries@fidra.com

Have a great week all! x

This week really has been quite hectic in the studio, we have had a few gorgeous deadlines that needed to be met, some technological updates that were long over due and some general maintenance in the studio to keep the machines in good working order. Now hopefully everything should be running smoothly and efficiently!

THIS WEEKS DESIGN DIARY UPDATE...

One of the on going new designs has progressed further, largely, we have added an element to the garnet and pearl bridal ensemble that has been coming together over the past few weeks, I had a lot of ideas when I was making my wedding dress that I like so much we are going to carry them on in to new projects and designs...

One of the things that I liked the most was the cuffs, I really wanted gloves of some kind, originally I was going to wear a pair that my grandmother made many, many years ago but when it comes to the ceremony and exchanging rings, that meant taking the gloves off and the last thing I wanted to do was loose those gloves. I searched through a range of my glove patterns for inspiration and decided that fingerless gloves were a much better idea, at this exact point I received a huge bulk load of vintage and antique lace pieces from a supplier who had been on a mission for me and in with all of this was a pair of victorian lace dress cuffs. They made my heart skip so that with a multitude of other gorgeous pieces set the way for my gauntlet/arm cuffs...

"BRIDAL MUSINGS" AMAZING HAIR DO...

Besides dresses and corsets, one of the things that people talk to me about most is hair do's. I meet a lot of brides and bridesmaids who have never really done that much with their hair and preparing for the wedding is both a big inspiration and slightly daunting....

The trouble with experimenting with professional hair stylist's is that it can get costly, I always recommend getting the girls round for a movie night and trying out a few ideas. You may find that what you thought you really wanted doesn't actually suit you and a style you never would have dreamt of using makes you look incredible. Whether you then decide to style your own hair on the day or not, at least you will be thoroughly researched when you approach a stylist.

This article from “bridal musings” offers a fantastic styling guide to create an elegant and stunning look that is versatile enough to use for all occasions, I have tried it out and even though my hair is ridiculously long I now know exactly how I am going to wear my hair for my step-sister's wedding in November!

Try it for yourself and check out "Bridal musings" other great articles and ideas, click on the image above.

You can also find them on facebook, www.facebook.com/bridalmusings

That's just about all for this week, we have an exciting week ahead of us so keep an eye out for next Sunday's round up!

Have an amazing week all! x
